If you would like to beat your hunger with free samples, do it with style.
Borough Market is London’s oldest food market and offers “the finest products untainted by the destructive tools of mass industry”, as one seller describes it.
You might not get a full course meal for free, but you will find yourself constantly munching on a variety of French cheeses, authentic Arabian humus, tasty Greek dips and spicy Mexican chiles and many other exquisite choices.
There’s something to cater to all tastes. I ate and was entertained for hours, filling up on free samples and discovering novel ingredients like a "drunk cheese" matured with red wine or butternut squash.
The sellers at the stalls are quite friendly and happy to explain the origin and authenticity of the products.
I only tried some of the available samples but at the end of the day I realized I was not hungry anymore, I had increased my international food knowledge and the best part: I had not spent a single quid.
